Lithium tetraborate and lithium metaborate are available from XRF Scientific and can be used as ultra-high purity fluxes when used at 100% composition. Lithium metaborate 100% works well in wet chemistry applications as it has a melting point of 845°C  and is highly reactive with acidic samples.

Lithium tetraborate ultra-high purity flux can be used with copper sulfate, magnesium oxide samples, and calcium oxide samples and is often combined with lithium metaborate to form fusion fluxes of various rations for sample preparation applications.

Fusing the lithium metaborate and lithium tetraborate ultra-high purity fluxes at a ratio of 66:34 and 50:50 for sample preparation of pH-neutral samples like alumina. Lithium metaborate ultra-high purity flux is often used for sample preparation in the form of fused beads or discs from XRF analysis. If a sample is not prepared correctly the outcomes can be inaccurate and substandard.
