Automated Systems

The ABM3000 is an automated batch mill that allows the operator to process up to 30 samples at a time without intervention.

The ABM3000 is fully programmable so that each sample can have its own grinding specifications as well as its own automated wash cycle to ensure no carry-over between samples. Compact, quiet (below 82 db) and easy to maintain with enhanced safety features, the ABM3000 can process up to 30 samples per batch and is suitable for almost any laboratory environment. It can also be integrated with ROCKLABS automated systems.

  • LCD touch screen panel with flashing buttons for clear indication of process
  • PLC control over milling and clean out cycle. Operator can change the parameters on the LCD touch screen panel to suit different samples
  • Processes up to 30 samples per batch
  • Auto sand wash programmed to clean out the mill between samples. Number of sand washes can be changed to suit

The ROCKLABS AP200 enables samples to be processed safely, efficiently and consistently at pre-determined specifications resulting in enhanced analytical data.

Designed to process up to 200 samples per day, the AP200 is comprised of a sample lifter, touch-screen control console, crushing-splitting tower, sample and waste removal conveyors and a Continuous Ring Mill combo with built-in Rotating Sample Divider (CRM – RSD) for pulverizing-splitting.

  • Includes a BOYD® Crusher and Linear Sample Divider
  • CRM – RSD with a double tiered head provides a fine product and accurate split
  • Sensor used to maintain safety and control various moving components
  • Processing controlled by a PLC for pre-determining processing parameters

The AP300 features dual systems for complete processing of blast hole, R.C. and drill core samples. System one is designed for blast hole and R.C. samples only and the second for both drill core and blast hole samples.

The two Systems have been built in a number of combinations of different modules: crushing-splitting modules, conveyor modules, pulverizing-splitting modules, sample collecting modules and a LCD touch-screen control console. Sensors are use throughout the System to control various moving components and for safety purposes.

System for blast-hole and R.C. samples:

  • Clear, user-friendly console with weighing scale
  • PLC – calculates percentages required for each split
  • Crushing-splitting module – bin lifter, shaking screen and LSD
  • Pulverising-splitting module – double-tier head for fine pulverizing and LSD
  • Sample collecting module – final splits collected in steel cups on X-Y table

System for drill core, underground, blast hole and R.C samples:

  • As per system one, with an extra module incorporating a sample lifter and Big BOYD® Crusher
  • Large sample lumps are pre-crushed with Big BOYD Crusher before further crushing with the BOYD Crusher
  • Big BOYD Crusher incorporates a new blockage sensor and thermocouples to monitor bearing temperatures

The AP1000 R Robotic System is designed to process up to 800 samples per day with an input sample weight between 800g and 10kg and a maximum particle size of 60mm.

This system has designed to produce a final product of 300g sample (particle size of 95% -75microns) plus a 300g retained sample with the balance to waste. It utilises ROCKLABS universally-accepted products including the BOYD® Crusher, LSD (Linear Sample Divider) and Auto Batch Mill with automated cleaning cycle. An ABB robot is used to load and retrieve sample bins from various positions within the system.

System for Blast Hole and R.C. samples

  • Full automation – from sample weighing, coding and data entry through crushing, splitting, pulversing processes and loading of processed samples into empty sample bins
  • Programmed to calculate varying crushing times which determines the loading sequence.
