Fusion Method Example Aluminium and bauxite
Aluminium - Bauxite and Alumina
For Phoenix Fusion Machines
For a sample containing Alumina 60%-30%, Silica 40-50%.
Prepare a mixture containing the following:
XRFS LT100 8.0g
Lithium Carbonate 1.0g
Sample 1.8g
On all Phoenix fusion machines, use the following program
Premelt 900°C 180 seconds
Melting, without swirling 225 seconds
Melting, with swirling 165 seconds
Cooling 300 seconds
For determination of light and minors elements
Flux types: XRFS65 HP. XRFSATLHP if fusion temperature is above 1200°C and provided the sample does not contain a high amount of alumina and silica.
